Sales intelligence can easily be considered as one of the most comprehensive and indispensable tools of digital marketing. In simpler terms, sales intelligence is the force behind attaining success in your marketing strategy with the help of tools, techniques and account based marketing tactics that facilitate data collection, tracking and analysis. Data insights about leads and potential customers are provided by sales intelligence.
At Icumulus, we recognize the pivotal role that sales intelligence and account based marketing tactics play in driving business growth and empowering our clients to thrive in an increasingly competitive marketplace, which we shall shed light upon through this blog-

Examining the impact of sales intelligence:
Success in today's constantly changing business environment depends on more than merely advertising goods and services; it also requires assessing the needs of your clientele , staying one step ahead of the competition and making practical choices at every stage, which include:-
Data Collection and Analysis
We start our journey into sales intelligence by gathering solid data from a variety of sources. In order to gain thorough insights into prospects, customers, market trends, and industry dynamics, we conduct our research with the help of CRM systems.
This is done by inculcating different Account based marketing tactics, social media, web analytics, and external databases.
In addition, we enable our clients to make well informed decisions that ultimately advance their sales plans by tools such as machine learning, predictive analytics, and data visualisation, among others.
Competitive Analysis and Performance Tracking
Since sales is one of the most dynamic industries, we realise the importance of tailoring our strategies accordingly. With sales intelligence, we help our clients craft detailed profiles of their target audience, delving into demographic information, data, buying behaviours, preferences, and pain points. This helps us gain an understanding of our clientele which ultimately helps us in customising our services based on need and preference.
This is carried out by compiling research and solutions that provide invaluable insights into competitors' activities, strategies, strengths, and weaknesses. Moreover, by monitoring competitor movements, pricing strategies, product launches, and market positioning, we are able to provide our clients with the knowledge and insight they need to stand out and establish their business.
In addition, our solutions enable our clients to use information such as success rates, average deal sizes, sales cycle durations, and sales pipeline velocity to track and assess the performance of their sales teams in real-time. With this important data at their disposal, our clients may identify areas for improvement, optimise their processes, and promote further success and growth.
In essence, at Icumulus, we believe in the power of knowledge and insight that empower our clients to make informed decisions, seize new opportunities, and embark on a journey to unparalleled achievement and growth. Instead of simply staying ahead of the curve, we help our clients define it with the help of data collection and analysis along with performance tracking of the same.

B2B Account-Based Marketing (ABM) vs. Traditional Marketing: Key Differences and Best Practices

Introduction
The evolution of marketing has given rise to a new contender in the B2B space: Account-Based Marketing (ABM). In contrast to traditional marketing strategies that focus on broad reach, ABM takes a laser-targeted approach to reach specific high-value accounts. So, which approach is right for your business? This article compares the key differences between B2B Account-Based Marketing and traditional marketing to help you choose the best strategy for your business.
What is Account-Based Marketing (ABM)?
Account-based marketing is a strategic B2B approach where businesses target specific key accounts with personalized campaigns, treating each account as a market of its own. ABM focuses on quality over quantity, aiming for higher conversion rates from fewer, high-value targets.
Personalization at Scale: ABM tailors messaging and campaigns to each specific account, often relying on data insights to deliver personalized content.
Focused Resources: Marketing and sales teams work together to concentrate on a few targeted accounts rather than casting a wide net.
Better Alignment Between Marketing and Sales: ABM often involves closer collaboration between marketing and sales departments, creating a unified effort in targeting and nurturing leads.
What is Traditional B2B Marketing?
Traditional B2B marketing aims to generate as many leads as possible by appealing to a broad audience. Campaigns are typically designed to attract leads through general messaging and wider distribution channels like email campaigns, ads, and content marketing.
Mass Outreach: Traditional marketing focuses on a larger pool of potential customers, generating leads through broad-based marketing strategies.
Brand Awareness: A primary goal is to increase brand visibility in the market, reaching many potential customers.
Sales Funnel Approach: Leads are gathered in the top funnel and gradually nurtured until they convert into customers.
Key Differences Between ABM and Traditional B2B Marketing
Target Audience
ABM: Highly targeted, focusing on specific high-value accounts or even individual decision-makers within those accounts.
Traditional Marketing: Broadly targets a wide array of prospects within a larger market.
Content and Messaging
ABM: Personalized content designed to address the specific pain points, needs, and interests of the targeted accounts.
Traditional Marketing: More generalized messaging intended to appeal to a broader audience.
Sales and Marketing Alignment
ABM: Close collaboration between marketing and sales, often working together to identify and target specific accounts.
Traditional Marketing: Marketing often works independently from sales, focusing on lead generation while sales teams handle closing.
Success Metrics
ABM: Success is measured by engagement, account conversions, and revenue from targeted accounts.
Traditional Marketing: Metrics often focus on the volume of leads, impressions, and overall brand reach.
Tools and Technologies
ABM: Often relies on advanced marketing automation tools, CRM integrations, and account-specific tracking to deliver personalized experiences.
Traditional Marketing: Typically uses broader tools like mass email marketing platforms, social media scheduling tools, and analytics platforms that track wide-ranging data.
Return on Investment (ROI)
ABM: Offers a higher ROI due to its focus on high-value accounts that are more likely to convert.
Traditional Marketing: ROI can be lower as the focus is on volume rather than quality, which may result in a larger number of unqualified leads.
Pros and Cons of ABM
Pros: High personalization, higher conversion rates, better alignment between sales and marketing, more targeted resource allocation.
Cons: Time and resource-intensive, requires strong collaboration between teams, fewer leads (but higher quality).
Pros and Cons of Traditional Marketing
Pros: Wider reach, easier to scale, generates large volumes of leads, effective for brand awareness.
Cons: Lower personalization, potentially lower lead quality, misalignment between sales and marketing teams.
Which Approach is Right for You?
The choice between ABM and traditional marketing largely depends on your business goals, target audience, and resources. If your business targets a niche market with specific, high-value accounts, ABM may provide a better ROI and stronger customer relationships. On the other hand, if you're looking to grow brand awareness and reach a broad audience, traditional marketing might be more effective.
For some businesses, a hybrid approach may be the best solution, combining the personalized touch of ABM with the broad reach of traditional marketing.
Conclusion
Both ABM and traditional marketing have their strengths and weaknesses. Understanding the core differences can help you align your marketing strategy with your business objectives. Whether you choose ABM for its precision or traditional marketing for its scalability, the key is to adapt and evolve with the changing B2B landscape.

5 Ways to Use Intent Data to Improve ABM Outcomes

I completely agree with this post by @apparentlybychance and what I write below is from my perspective. My understanding comes from the perspective of someone who studied marketing since 2019, is a community manager and currently works in a marketing agency.
You are not compelled to take everything I say as the real and only way to look at it, this is my opinion and I respect others as well.
It's clear that Louis needs a new marketing team, as the current one doesn't seem to be doing its job properly or, worse, doesn't even seem to understand what they're doing. Their attempts to divert attention to topics such as his "fatherhood" or sexuality are way too obvious, while his music is poorly promoted. Many fans try to fill that gap by promoting his music organically, but it doesn't have much impact as we are not an enormous fandom and it's not our responsibility either. Moreover, the fan base shrinks with every failed "strategy", which generates disinterest, anger and abandonment of the fandom. This is also reflected in the organisation and promotion of their shows and music releases.
The worrying thing is that this mismanagement is not new; it has been going on since the beginning of his solo career. Some justify this by saying that Louis prefers to be an underground/indie artist and be left alone with the usual fans, but that makes no sense, that's just a justification for the bad actions of his team. No artist seeks to stagnate or limit his growth. To advocate without questioning every decision of an artist's background doesn't mean being a "bad fan", and it is important to understand that questioning the strategy is not attacking the artist.
It is frustrating to see that many fans believe that Louis doesn't really want to grow as an artist, which, again, makes no sense. The problem is the lack of planning and analysis on the part of his team, who act without foreseeing the long-term consequences. I don't understand this image they want to give him, because as a fan for years, this is not the Louis I grew up with. Maybe he's trying to distance himself from One Direction and avoid the mainstream stuff, which is admirable, but this kinda rude and distant image doesn't seem to align with his original (and real) essence.
Those of us who work in marketing and communication have a different, more analytical and technical vision, which allows us to detect patterns and strategies (or the lack of them). This is not a justification to invalidate other opinions in any way, but to offer an informed perspective. With Louis, it is clear that there is no clear strategy. His team seems to improvise, as if every decision is made without a long-term plan, simply reacting in the moment.
The resurgence of the babygate stuff a few days ago is another example of this lack of planning. From the outset it seems to have been an idea launched without considering the consequences and, now that it has grown out of control, they don't know how to handle it or shut it down for good. This only creates more chaos as the years go by. The exposure of the child has been contradictory from the beginning: How can you justify wanting to protect his privacy when he was initially exposed so much by his whole family, from pregnancy onwards, and then included in the documentary "All of These Voices"? Nothing has any coherence if you analyse it at all.
As for the blocking on Twitter, it is hard to believe that Louis has blocked so many accounts without it being known beforehand. It's an absurd and ineffective tactic to manage the narrative of his public image. I agree with the post that "Louis and his team are no different. They like to use subtle tactics like blocking, following, unfollowing or general interactions on their social accounts (mainly X) to manage the narrative of their public image" as this is part of a strategy that has been carried over from One Direction, like when he tweeted "I am in fact straight" or "Larry is the biggest load of bullshit I've ever heard".
Or Another example we can name is this 2012 interaction with Rebecca Ferguson, where she expresses the overexploitation she was receiving and "Louis" replies "Success is impossible without proper hard work". That contradictory image does not fit with the Louis that many of us fans have known and followed for years. Why would an artist seek to lose fans and, therefore, limit his growth?

Over time, all this has made their actions feel fake and automated. As a fan, one ends up questioning and analysing every action from another perspective, as nothing seems genuine or truthful. His "Hope everyone is doing alright" tweets seem scripted and even programmed, lacking that closeness that used to exist. While we know that artists' social media accounts are controlled, the fan/artist connection remains crucial to maintaining public support and loyalty. When repetitive patterns and bad strategies accumulate, the authenticity of the artist is lost, turning him into a kind of "robot" with no control over his actions, which can end up damaging his image and damaging the relationship with his fans, often without him being fully aware of it.
From a music marketing perspective, there are several key aspects that Louis' team seems to ignore. An effective marketing team should focus on research and investigation of the audience, clearly identifying the artist's target audience, considering factors such as age, interests and content consumption platforms. The lack of consistent branding is evident, as Louis' public image doesn't appear to align with his musical and personal essence, leading to confusion.
A well-planned release strategy should include a pre-launch campaign with teasers, interviews and strategic collaborations, something that seems to be absent in most of his projects. In addition, multi-channel promotion is essential, using social media, interviews, streaming playlists and specialised press, without relying exclusively on fandom. A competent team should also focus on authentic storytelling, creating an emotional and genuine narrative to connect with the audience, rather than resorting to polemical tactics that distort his image.
Fan growth and retention is another key aspect. Good marketing seeks to expand the fan base while maintaining the interest of the current, as opposed to what appears to be happening. Finally, long-term planning is essential, with measurable goals and clear direction, rather than reactive and inconsistent decisions.
In conclusion, Louis' team is not managing his career professionally or effectively. Successful marketing requires planning, analysis and authenticity. His fans deserve a clear and respectful narrative, and he deserves a team that will really promote his music and his career. I hope that for LT3 we have a good promotion, that his team starts to get things right because I don't want his career to continue to suffer consequences from this, besides from his image to be ruined by the mismanagement of those working with him.

(I've talked about Drift fucking crystals before right? Like there's no way that I haven't at least once right?)
How it all starts, of course, is with Rodimus making dirty jokes about some of the more... suspiciously shaped crystals in his collections, which Drift scolds him for. None of his crystals would be used like that! It's disrespectful!
Drift definitely doesn't spend the next couple of weeks staring at the ceiling of his room, furiously jacking off, while carefully avoiding looking at his collection. Or even thinking about it. Absolutely not. (Damn it, Rodimus)
So when he's next at an alien market and perusing the crystals and gemstones section, he definitely has no ulterior motive for buying an absurdly large harmonic quartz suspiciously cut and polished into the shape of a textured spike. Complete coincidence. (Listen, it was a really high-quality quartz for dirt cheap, he had to take that deal, ignore his bank account numbers)
And Drift is simply making a smart and tactical decision when he hides it in his subspace until he gets back to his room. Rodimus would probably never shut up about it, and maybe even steal it to try and do... lewd... acts with it! Truly, he is just looking out for the safety and dignity of all involved. Minimus would be proud
It's just... curiosity, that makes him take out the new quartz before he starts... "tending to himself," so he can compare it to his spike... only to see if it actually is that phallic!
The harmonic quartz is certainly pretty, shimmering with many vibrant colors. And large. And thick. And at the base of the center pillar, there are still some small crystalline formations, lovely and polished to a shine, but decently sharp enough to make you want to keep them away from anything... sensitive
A healthy dose of self-delusion really can't cover for the fact that once Drift realizes the crystal is so generously proportioned that it's nearly twice as big as his spike, his valve starts dripping. Any internal justifications of "academic interest" or "morbid curiosity" can't cover for the way he's now rubbing the blunt tip of the quartz across his glowing node and flushed valve folds
And, all right... maybe... he's been thinking about this more than he should. Maybe, getting it out of his system would make him stop. Maybe putting that blunt, unyielding crystal into his valve won't feel good at all, and he won't lie awake thinking about it anymore, so he should just put it in and be done with it-
Drift's loud moan shatters both the silence of his room and his hopes of not enjoying this, as he forces the massive crystal past the first caliper of his valve. It's somehow nothing like a spike, and yet better, his valve desperately clenching around the too-large quartz. The burn of his first caliper squeezing down on its unyielding, solid mass is exquisite. (It's possible there are some other things he has been avoiding admitting to himself, every time an injury made him revved up with charge that he did his best to ignore)
And, well. Maybe once Drift's collected himself, he ends up staring at the ceiling again, thinking about the empty ache in the rest of his valve, and the sunk cost fallacy, and how the rest of the crystal might feel if this is just the tip, and the merits of literally just saying "fuck it."
So he does. Fuck it, I mean. Vigorously, with great enthusiasm and some mild self-injury. His needy little valve was designed take the softer living metal of a spike, or something similar. The hard quartz he's forcing his valve open with is nothing like that at all. The sweet thrill of pain lights up his array with more charge than he ever really wants to self-reflect on
If Drift could even hear himself right now, he'd probably be embarrassed by the noises he's making. The aching burn of each new caliper he harshly pushes through has him moaning like a virgin taking their first spike. But he's too distracted by how fragging full he feels, one hand brutally pistoning the quartz into his abused valve, the other furiously rubbing circles on his anterior node
Fragging hell, when he finally manages to force the whole thing inside of him and grind the fat, blunt tip into his ceiling node, he shrieks like he's being fragging murdered, and accidentally overloads himself into unconsciousness
As Drift wakes up the next morning, still aching around the crystal he didn’t have the chance to pull out, valve lips scratched and bleeding from the rough edges at the base of his new favorite false spike, he looks at the ceiling and thinks: maybe I should start a new crystal collection...
(and, oh primus, if I get an infection from this, no one is ever going to let me live it down)
#valveplug#mine#drift#i told yall i was gonna do nefarious things to him#yup this was inspired by that comic#tf am i gonna tag this with#pain kink drift extravaganza#the spirit of something possessed me this is the most ive wrote in a while#with much effort and pain and suffering and etc this could probly become an actual ffic

From racist callouts to 'Charity' scams: The exposing and rebranding of @aphrodicci, @venuskura"
We already wanted to discuss that hot mess that is @aphrodicci's donation post, or shall we call it damage control post? Thankfully somebody brought this up in our DMs. Let's talk about it.
Let's start with the basics: it's disturbing to watch a fatphobic racist bully try to rebrand herself through a genocide and a humanitarian crisis, RIGHT after being called out for racism, bullying, fatphobia, homophobia, and misogyny. Suddenly shifting the narrative toward “opening her own charity” after being EXPOSED AS A BULLY AND A RACIST HOMOPHOBE, and emotionally manipulating people through trauma stories immediately after being exposed is not activism. It’s damage control.
The timing alone is suspicious, but what makes it even more blatant is how she’s using global suffering to promote astrology services. Her second post (the one that the anon offered, you can find it on @venuskura) reads less like a call to action and more like a marketing pitch, offering tiered astrology readings in exchange for “donations,” all while vaguely saying the money is going to her and her family. How is that transparent? Where is the actual donation tracking? Where’s the proof this money is going anywhere except her own pocket? And what does she mean by "her own family"? That was not what she promised on her first post.
Mind you, this is not the first time she has done this, when @corvoidea called her out the last time she tried using the same exact tactic, where she was using tragedy and suffering as a meat shield.
It’s disgusting to exploit global and real tragedies to evade accountability. People have a right to be angry. Using stories of genocide as a shield against valid criticism isn’t just manipulative, and it’s exactly what people warned she would do.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That second post was extremely emotionally manipulative.
She opens with a personal childhood memory of her mother crying about trauma linked to the M23 Movement. While this might seem heartfelt on the surface, it's carefully timed to:
Shift attention away from the multiple callouts she has received
Frame herself as someone who has suffered deeply, subtly repositioning herself as a victim rather than the aggressor people are accusing her of being
Create an emotionally charged atmosphere so that criticism appears insensitive. You don't even realize how manipulative this is.
------------------------------------------------
Let's also talk about hidden monetization in a cloak of charity. Her donation mechanisms are shady.
Why is she asking people to send her money directly instead of donating to actual Palestinian funds? She says the money is for "donations" but then she casually adds "I'll be supporting them as much as I can while also helping my family." As mentioned earlier, this is not what was promised. She never mentioned her own family on her first post, so why are those donations casually being used to help her own family now? How are the funds being split? @aphrodicci @venuskura claims she intends to open a charity, but now it is seeming more like a crowdfund for personal reasons. Since this is for charity, why should she be benefitting or profiting? Is it charity or is it crowdfunding for herself? She claims to make so much money but needs her followers to help her take care of her family for "charity", but what happened to Gaza? It seems like she is abusing the fact that she is Congolese for sympathy and for donations.
This vague phrasing immediately contradicts the original premise of full donations and suggests the funds are being split or entirely redirected. In other words, this is not a donation-based charity.
It’s a paid service marketed under the illusion of humanitarian aid for Gaza.
The structure of the post mimics a tiered product sales pitch:
$15 for one placement reading
$30 for two placements, eight paragraphs
Screenshots required
Use backup page for “clarity” (sus).
It's also extremely manipulative to promote spiritual services off the backs of murdered children and r*ped women. She is likely trying to cleanse her public image by associating herself with a moral cause, as mentioned in @selenepsyche's post. Any critiques of her are now easier to frame as “pettiness” in the face of a global crisis (as hinted in Post #1: “so privileged to be angry at thy neighbor over past scandals…”).
@aphrodicci / @venuskura, you think you're slick but people can see right through you. This is deplorable.
Please don't donate to this person because we don't know what she's actually going to do with the money.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For those who want to donate to Gaza/Palestine, here is a list of charities we personally like:
https://x.com/careforgaza (Care for Gaza)
Thank you.

I have a question that keeps bothering me for years now; why do people say korea has less interesting traditional lgbt history compared to china and japan? I was reading a research paper about homosexual history of korea (it was quite a good research paper) and it mentioned that one of the historian, or researcher (probably white and/or westerner) said that it lacked lgbt historical account compared japan and china. I also read a brief article about it and it said the same thing.
As a Korean, I'm very torn w this view. If it's true, then it sucks that there aren't as much concrete history, and it makes me feel inferior as a korean. Idk if you felt that, but how can i deal with this inferiority of being korean due to the lack of lgbt history?
hello!
that's a rly silly discourse that you're dealing with, i hope i can clear some stuff up for you.
1. perceptions of "lgbt history" in different countries is entirely based on a western viewpoint of what being queer even is and based in western research and texts, every single culture has lgbt histories that are equally "interesting" it's just a matter of whether its been studied and recorded by western scholars and accessible to people in english.
2. korea has not been as popular or widely researched until very very recently so there's hundreds of years of western anthropological texts on culture and sexuality in china and japan that is now developing for korea. there's plenty of documentation of queer buddhist monks, court ladies and maids, queer princes and kings.
3. no outside perception of your culture should have the power to make u feel inferior about your ethnic background it's extremely unimportant as well as politically unsound. rating cultures on how "progressive" they are about lgbt issues and other things is a colonial tactic that hides the fact that there are lgbt people everyone in the world and all lgbt traditions and lineages are equally interesting and important. its the same logic as pink washing tactics that israel use to claim that they have moral superiority over palestinians when it's rly just racist marketing lies.
my whole academic focus is how korean shamanism is the basis of korean indigenous spirituality and also folk music and storytelling traditions, and my intervention is talking about how it's inherently queer. there's plenty of documentation of male shamans who are able to live as women and take on a husband in a way that can be referred to as male homosexuality or being transgender women but doesn't exactly match up with western cultural ideas.
having documentation and therefore being legible as lgbt from a western outside perspective and having english language documentation doesn't mean that the culture itself is more queer. more or less queer isn't even a real measurement. and every culture has their own understandings of gender and sexuality and their own queer cultures are often left in oral tradition or kept secret for safety and they shouldn't have to legitimize themselves through a western lens.
also i recently found a book called queer korea (part of a series edited by jack halberstam and lisa lowe) with a lot of essays in it and it's open access on jstor, you should definitely check it out. also the history of the women's taxi driver union of the 1960s being a lesbian labor organizing space is my fave korean lgbt history tidbit.

I'm back! Let’s discuss the potential consequences for HL or other closeted celebrities in the event of an incriminating leak regarding hidden relationships.
First, we can expect immediate legal action. Cease and desist orders would likely be issued to the platforms hosting this incriminating content. The individuals sharing it could face threats of lawsuits, and there may be DMCA takedowns depending on the nature of the leak. Privacy violation claims would almost certainly be filed, as sharing such content without explicit consent, especially if obtained secretly, is a clear breach of privacy.
Next, let’s consider how public relations efforts would respond. Media outlets might either ignore the leak or release vague statements. They rely heavily on the artists for their narratives; if they push the "wrong" story too far, they risk being blacklisted.
There would likely be attempts at timeline sanitization. Management and record labels might try to distract the public with announcements of a new album, dating rumors, paparazzi appearances, or even scandals involving others—essentially anything to divert attention from the truth. If the content is recent, they might attempt to claim it was “fake,” “deepfake,” or “taken out of context,” while they could argue “it was a long time ago” if it’s older material. If it’s a long-running story, they might dismiss fans as “delusional.”
Targeted social media scrubbing would also take place. This could involve account suspensions for those who shared or facilitated the spread of the incriminating content. Algorithms might be adjusted to suppress posts or hashtags related to the leak, and viral threads could be buried.
Fan division might be amplified, with clear lines drawn between antis and those who believe the claims. Mockery is a common tactic, where they might "say the truth but make it a joke," essentially gaslighting the audience. There could also be threats and silencing, especially regarding enforcement of non-disclosure agreements. Anyone connected to the leak—such as former employees, stylists, or crew members—might be sued or silenced based on previously signed NDAs (like even family could experience this) Some could potentially be offered hush money, whereas others might face threats of blacklisting within the industry.
Regarding image management, they may promote a heterosexual image to an extreme degree, possibly launching “new relationships” with individuals of the opposite sex. If the situation becomes unavoidable, they would attempt to control the narrative, crafting a carefully worded statement. Alternatively, they could choose to allow a public coming out if it’s absolutely necessary.
Ultimately, the response is not linear and depends on the specific situation. For instance, if a recent photo of HL, clearly depicting them on a couch, drinking tea, and cuddling, were to surface, it would be difficult to maintain distractions. In such a case, they might need to come out publicly, though even that would be devastating and represent a significant challenge. If it were HL, they would have to address the last 14 years of denial and distraction, though they wouldn’t have to do it alone. Untimely it would likely end in a force coming out or manipulation. It’s so complicated, especially if it were to happen after YEARS of shit like HL have had to deal with. It’s would be….probably the most horrific thing imaginable, especially if said person wasn’t ready to come out.
you're always welcome, please give me something to tag your chats with!!!!
'say the truth make it a joke' -> oh..... that brings up a lot of things that H&L have said over the years
its in no-ones best interest to out anyone.
this is why a lot of closeted celebrities either never come out or come out after the peak of their career.
thankyou for your perspective and come back to talk about anything!! do you have any insight into other parts of pr & marketing lik pr relationships 👀

The impoverished imagination of neoliberal climate “solutions

This morning (Oct 31) at 10hPT, the Internet Archive is livestreaming my presentation on my recent book, The Internet Con.
There is only one planet in the known universe capable of sustaining human life, and it is rapidly becoming uninhabitable by humans. Clearly, this warrants bold action – but which bold action should we take?
After half a century of denial and disinformation, the business lobby has seemingly found climate religion and has joined the choir, but they have their own unique hymn: this crisis is so dire, they say, that we don't have the luxury of choosing between different ways of addressing the emergency. We have to do "all of the above" – every possible solution must be tried.
In his new book Dark PR, Grant Ennis explains that this "all of the above" strategy doesn't represent a change of heart by big business. Rather, it's part of the denial playbook that's been used to sell tobacco-cancer doubt and climate disinformation:
https://darajapress.com/publication/dark-pr-how-corporate-disinformation-harms-our-health-and-the-environment
The point of "all of the above" isn't muscular, immediate action – rather, it's a delaying tactic that creates space for "solutions" that won't work, but will generate profits. Think of how the tobacco industry used "all of the above" to sell "light" cigarettes, snuff, snus, and vaping – and delay tobacco bans, sin taxes, and business-euthanizing litigation. Today, the same playbook is used to sell EVs as an answer to the destructive legacy of the personal automobile – to the exclusion of mass transit, bikes, and 15-minute cities:
https://thewaroncars.org/2023/10/24/113-dark-pr-with-grant-ennis/
As the tobacco and car examples show, "all of the above" is never really all of the above. Pursuing "light" cigarettes to reduce cancer is incompatible with simply banning tobacco; giving everyone a personal EV is incompatible with remaking our cities for transit, cycling and walking.
When it comes to the climate emergency, "all of the above" means trying "market-based" solutions to the exclusion of directly regulating emissions, despite the poor performance of these "solutions."
The big one here is carbon offsets, which allows companies to make money by promising not to emit carbon that they would otherwise emit. The idea here is that creating a new asset class will unleash the incredible creativity of markets by harnessing the greed of elite sociopaths to the project of decarbonization, rather of the prudence of democratically accountable lawmakers.
Carbon offsets have not worked: they have been plagued by absolutely foreseeable problems that have not lessened, despite repeated attempts to mitigate them.
For starters, carbon offsets are a classic market for lemons. The cheapest way to make a carbon offset is to promise not to emit carbon you were never going to emit anyway, as when fake charities like the Nature Conservancy make millions by promising not to log forests that can't be logged because they are wildlife preserves:
https://pluralistic.net/2022/03/18/greshams-carbon-law/#papal-indulgences
Then there's the problem of monitoring carbon offsetting activity. Like, what happens when the forest you promise not to log burns down? If you're a carbon trader, the answer is "nothing." That burned-down forest can still be sold as if it were sequestering carbon, rather than venting it to the atmosphere in an out-of-control blaze:
https://pluralistic.net/2021/07/26/aggregate-demand/#murder-offsets
When you bought a plane ticket and ticked the "offset the carbon on my flight" box and paid an extra $10, I bet you thought that you were contributing to a market that incentivized a reduction in discretionary, socially useless carbon-intensive activity. But without those carbon offsets, SUVs would have all but disappeared from American roads. Carbon offsets for Tesla cars generated billions in carbon offsets for Elon Musk, and allowed SUVs to escape regulations that would otherwise have seen them pulled from the market:
https://pluralistic.net/2021/11/24/no-puedo-pagar-no-pagara/#Rat
What's more, Tesla figured out how to get double the offsets they were entitled to by pretending that they had a working battery-swap technology. This directly translated to even more SUVs on the road:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Tesla,_Inc.#Misuse_of_government_subsidies
Harnessing the profit motive to the planet's survivability might sound like a good idea, but it assumes that corporations can self-regulate their way to a better climate future. They cannot. Think of how Canada's logging industry was allowed to clearcut old-growth forests and replace them with "pines in lines" – evenly spaced, highly flammable, commercially useful tree-farms that now turn into raging forest fires every year:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/09/16/murder-offsets/#pulped-and-papered
The idea of "market-based" climate solutions is that certain harmful conduct should be disincentivized through taxes, rather than banned. This makes carbon offsets into a kind of modern Papal indulgence, which let you continue to sin, for a price. As the outstanding short video Murder Offsets so ably demonstrates, this is an inadequate, unserious and immoral response to the urgency of the issue:
https://pluralistic.net/2021/04/14/for-sale-green-indulgences/#killer-analogy
Offsets and other market-based climate measures aren't "all of the above" – they exclude other measures that have better track-records and lower costs, because those measures cut against the interests of the business lobby. Writing for the Law and Political Economy Project, Yale Law's Douglas Kysar gives some pointed examples:
https://lpeproject.org/blog/climate-change-and-the-neoliberal-imagination/
For example: carbon offsets rely on a notion called "contrafactual carbon," this being the imaginary carbon that might be omitted by a company if it wasn't participating in offsets. The number of credits a company gets is determined by the difference between its contrafactual emissions and its actual emissions.
But the "contrafactual" here comes from a business-as-usual world, one where the only limit on carbon emissions comes from corporate executives' voluntary actions – and not from regulation, direct action, or other limits on corporate conduct.
Kysar asks us to imagine a contrafactual that depends on "carbon upsets," rather than offsets – one where the limits on carbon come from "lawsuits, referenda, protests, boycotts, civil disobedience":
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/cif-green/2010/aug/29/carbon-upsets-offsets-cap-and-trade
If we're really committed to "all of the above" as baseline for calculating offsets, why not imagine a carbon world grounded in foreseeable, evidence-based reality, like the situation in Louisiana, where a planned petrochemical plant was canceled after a lawsuit over its 13.6m tons of annual carbon emissions?
https://earthjustice.org/press/2022/louisiana-court-vacates-air-permits-for-formosas-massive-petrochemical-complex-in-cancer-alley
Rather than a tradeable market in carbon offsets, we could harness the market to reward upsets. If your group wins a lawsuit that prevents 13.6m tons of carbon emissions every year, it will get 13.6 million credits for every year that plant would have run. That would certainly drive the commercial imaginations of many otherwise disinterested parties to find carbon-reduction measures. If we're going to revive dubious medieval practices like indulgences, why not champerty, too?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Champerty_and_maintenance
That is, if every path to a survivable planet must run through Goldman-Sachs, why not turn their devious minds to figuring out ways to make billions in tradeable credits by suing the pants off oil companies?
There are any number of measures that rise to the flimsy standards of evidence in support of offsets. Like, we're giving away $85/ton in free public money for carbon capture technologies, despite the lack of any credible path to these making a serious dent in the climate situation:
https://www.spglobal.com/commodityinsights/en/market-insights/latest-news/energy-transition/072523-ira-turbocharged-carbon-capture-tax-credit-but-challenges-persist-experts
If we're willing to fund untested longshots like carbon capture, why not measures that have far better track-records? For example, there's a pretty solid correlation between the presence of women in legislatures and on corporate boards and overall reductions in carbon. I'm the last person to suggest that the problems of capitalism can be replaced by replacing half of the old white men who run the world with women, PoCs and queers – but if we're willing to hand billions to ferkakte scheme like carbon capture, why not subsidize companies that pack their boards with women, or provide campaign subsidies to women running for office? It's quite a longshot (putting Liz Truss or Marjorie Taylor-Greene on your board or in your legislature is no way to save the planet), but it's got a better evidentiary basis than carbon capture.
There's also good evidence that correlates inequality with carbon emissions, though the causal relationship is unclear. Maybe inequality lets the wealthy control policy outcomes and tilt them towards permitting high-emission/high-profit activities. Maybe inequality reduces the social cohesion needed to make decarbonization work. Maybe inequality makes it harder for green tech to find customers. Maybe inequality leads to rich people chasing status-enhancing goods (think: private jet rides) that are extremely carbon-intensive.
Whatever the reason, there's a pretty good case that radical wealth redistribution would speed up decarbonization – any "all of the above" strategy should certainly consider this one.
Kysar's written a paper on this, entitled "Ways Not to Think About Climate Change":
https://political-theory.org/resources/Documents/Kysar.Ways%20Not%20to%20Think%20About%20Climate%20Change.pdf
It's been accepted for the upcoming American Society for Political and Legal Philosophy conference on climate change:
https://political-theory.org/13257256
It's quite a bracing read! The next time someone tells you we should hand Elon Musk billions to in exchange for making it possible to legally manufacture vast fleets of SUVs because we need to try "all of the above," send them a copy of this paper.

Just FYI, because I'm sensing that the way this is going, I'm going to need to respond to this, as people content making accusations left and right with no proof whatsoever:
I am in no way affiliated with John Reardon or Meghan Ory. People who have been around might have seen my blog in other fandoms, it doesn't get more fan-nish than that. I joined Tumblr in 2011 via the NCIS fandom, wanting to show my fanvids to other fans, since I was already making them for myself. I also am alicepao13 on Youtube. I've been a fan of one thing or another for years, I certainly did not make up an account to start spewing lies just now, unlike other people.
I have some knowledge of how showbiz and studios, productions, networks work from my own country, which is Greece (easily verifiable, and I can also share photo proof of my location at any time, roughly, of course, I'm not about to dox myself), because people from my family have worked in the business, and some from people I've since met online from the US and the UK. Some things are universal, just like the production's recent attempt to try to pin their failures on their lead actor. I am familiar with smearing campaigns, I am familiar with shady tactics to try to villainize your actors so that the fandom will be divided, just like they're doing now, so that the studio and the production will keep their reputation intact and rid themselves of the fanbase demanding for the show to go back to how we want it.
I'm definitely not getting paid by anyone. If anything, I'm choosing to support John Reardon and Meghan Ory's channel because I figure that I owe John Reardon that much for the many hours of Hudson and Rex fun he has provided me with. I'm not an ultra-stan of them either. I was fine with supporting the entire Hudson and Rex production and buying merchandise every now and then before but it's now very clear that I shouldn't have done that as they're not worth my money. That money goes directly to Shaftesbury.
Now they have crossed a line. This is not disloyalty, it's an active smear campaign, if it's indeed being done by the production (I've said my piece about that part in my long ass post and the asks that followed).
And I hope that John Reardon speaks up about it. That post was defamatory as hell, he's well within his right to sue (my family has a bunch of lawyers as well so I know quite a bit about laws too), and while it was edited and then taken down, that doesn't mean people didn't read it, screenshotted it, and talked about it.
As for the campaign: I was always comfortable following other people's lead in fandoms. The moves I'm suggesting are based on other people's similar moves plus marketing knowledge (little of which is applicable in this case). I'm sure not all of it is right. But I know it's worse to sit around and do nothing, hoping that through some divine intervention the Hudson and Rex production will realize the error of their ways before they go to next season, the rating plummet and they're left with no backup plan. I'm counting on the rest of the fandom to suggest things that I haven't thought of or to argue with me about certain suggestions they might not see as productive.
I'm not here to impose hard lines or restrictions, I merely want to offer options. If you feel it's right, do it. If you don't feel comfortable doing something, don't do it. At the end of the day, we all have to leave with our choices and I'm sure that, just like me, you've all got like a hundred other things on top of this. Do not exhaust yourselves on this and take care of yourselves.

Gross national product (GNP) GNP is related to another important economic measure called gross domestic product (GDP), which takes into account all output produced within a country's borders regardless of who owns the means of production. GNP starts with GDP, adds residents' investment income from overseas investments, and subtracts foreign residents' investment income earned within a country. Whilst GDP measures the total value of goods and services produced within a country's borders, GNP focuses on the income generated by its residents, regardless of their location.
Gross National Income (GNI) is the total amount of money earned by a nation's people and businesses. It is used to measure and track a nation's wealth from year to year. The number includes the nation's gross domestic product (GDP) plus the income it receives from overseas sources.

Supporting Striker (Inverted Winger)
Central Winger (False 10)
Overlapping Run/Defensive Winger (Half-winger)
An inverted winger is a modern tactical development of the traditional winger position. Most wingers are assigned to either side of the field based on their footedness, with right-footed players on the right and left-footed players on the left.[65] This assumes that assigning a player to their natural side ensures a more powerful cross as well as greater ball protection along the touch-lines. However, when the position is inverted and a winger instead plays inside-out on the opposite flank (i.e., a right-footed player as a left inverted winger), they effectively become supporting strikers and primarily assume a role in the attack.[66]
The "false 10" or "central winger"[55] is a type of midfielder, which differs from the trequartista. Much like the "false 9", their specificity lies in the fact that, although they seemingly play as an attacking midfielder on paper, unlike a traditional playmaker who stays behind the striker in the centre of the pitch, the false 10's goal is to move out of position and drift wide when in possession of the ball to help both the wingers and fullbacks to overload the flanks. This means two problems for the opposing midfielders: either they let the false 10 drift wide, and their presence, along with both the winger and the fullback, creates a three-on-two player advantage out wide; or they follow the false 10, but leave space in the centre of the pitch for wingers or onrushing midfielders to exploit. False 10s are usually traditional wingers who are told to play in the centre of the pitch, and their natural way of playing makes them drift wide and look to provide deliveries into the box for teammates.
In Italian football, the term mezzala (literally "half-winger" in Italian) is used to describe the position of the one or two central midfielders who play on either side of a holding midfielder and/or playmaker. The term was initially applied to the role of an inside forward in the WM and Metodo formations in Italian, but later described a specific type of central midfielder. The mezzala is often a quick and hard-working attack-minded midfielder, with good skills and noted offensive capabilities, as well as a tendency to make overlapping attacking runs, but also a player who participates in the defensive aspect of the game, and who can give width to a team by drifting out wide; as such, the term can be applied to several different roles.
On occasion, the false-10 can also function in a different manner alongside a false-9, usually in a 4–6–0 formation. Midfield collective of False 9, False 10, Box to Box, Holding, Half Winger, Attacking, Defensive. We are not stretching the defensive line itsself, but the space between the defensive line and the goalkeeper.
Thiago Motta’s ‘Super Offensive’ 2-7-2 Formation Explained: Instead of the traditional way of looking at a tactical set-up horizontally, the Brazil-born manager instead split the field into three vertical lanes. This means he effectively has seven players in the central channel with two players out wide on each flank.

The language emerged from contact between French settlers and enslaved Africans during the Atlantic slave trade in the French colony of Saint-Domingue (now Haiti) in the 17th and 18th centuries. Although its vocabulary largely derives from 18th-century French, its grammar is that of a West African Volta-Congo language branch, particularly the Fongbe and Igbo languages.

Go Go Music Influenced, Eurphoric Trance Chord Progression Melody, Progressive House and Drum n' Bass Percussion-808 Call and Response Staccato Polyrhythm or Layered Kick and Punch 808.
In his 1972 study of French lute music, scholar Wallace Rave compiled a list of features he believed to be characteristic of style brisé. Rave's list included the following: the avoidance of textural pattern and regularity in part writing; arpeggiated chord textures with irregular distribution of individual notes of the chord; ambiguous melodic lines; rhythmic displacement of notes within a melodic line; octave changes within melodic line; irregular phrase lengths.
Have the Snare and Kick say, "Hi, How are you?" And the 808 say, "I am good thanks for asking.”
Use progressive House to push the Drums Conversation to either Fast and Punchy for Happy or Slow and Deep for Sad.
In technical terms, "go-go's essential beat is characterized by a five through four syncopated rhythm that is underscored prominently by the bass drum and snare drum, and the hi-hat... [and] is ornamented by the other percussion instruments, especially by the conga drums, rototoms, and hand-held cowbells."[5]
Polyrhythm: In music, a cross-beat or cross-rhythm is a specific form of polyrhythm. The term cross rhythm was introduced in 1934 by the musicologist Arthur Morris Jones (1889–1980). It refers to a situation where the rhythmic conflict found in polyrhythms is the basis of an entire musical piece.[1]
Four-on-the-floor (or four-to-the-floor) is a rhythm used primarily in dance genres such as disco and electronic dance music. It is a steady, uniformly accented beat in 4. 4 time in which the bass drum is hit on every beat (1, 2, 3, 4).[1] This was popularized in the disco music of the 1970s[2] and the term four-on-the-floor was widely used in that era, since the beat was played with the pedal-operated, drum-kit bass drum.[3][4] (Punch 808-Kick)
Polyrhythm 4 on the Floor examples 2:4 or 5:4
Hard trance is often characterized by strong, hard (or even downpitch) kicks, fully resonant basses and an increased amount of reverberation applied to the main beat. Melodies vary from 140 to 180 BPMs and it can feature plain instrumental sound in early compositions, with the latter ones tending to implement side-chaining techniques of progressive on digital synthesizers.

Commercialism is the application of both manufacturing and consumption towards personal usage, or the practices, methods, aims, and distribution of products in a free market geared toward generating a profit.
Commercial art is art created for advertising or marketing purposes. Commercial artists are hired by clients to create images and logos that sell products. Unlike works of fine art that convey an artist's personal expression, commercial art must address the client's goals.
The word 'Commercial' is defined as follows: Concerned with or engaged in commerce. Commerce is the exchange of goods or services among two or more parties.
Craftsmen are committed to the medium, not to self-expression. Artists are committed to their self-expression, not the medium.
A medium of exchange is an intermediary instrument and system used to facilitate the purchase and sale of goods and services between parties.

IMPERIALISM, THE HIGHEST STAGE OF CAPITALISM
Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism,[1] originally published as Imperialism, the Newest Stage of Capitalism,[2][3] is a book written by Vladimir Lenin in 1916 and published in 1917. It describes the formation of oligopoly, by the interlacing of bank and industrial capital, in order to create a financial oligarchy, and explains the function of financial capital in generating profits from the exploitation colonialism inherent to imperialism, as the final stage of capitalism. The essay synthesises Lenin's developments of Karl Marx's theories of political economy in Das Kapital (1867).[4]

A clay-court specialist is a tennis player who excels on clay courts, more than on any other surface.
Due in part to advances in racquet technology, current clay-court specialists are known for employing long, winding groundstrokes that generate heavy topspin; such strokes are less effective on faster surfaces on which the balls do not bounce as high. Clay-court specialists tend to slide more effectively on clay than other players. Many of them are also very adept at hitting the drop shot, which can be effective because rallies on clay courts often leave players pushed far beyond the baseline. Additionally, the slow, long rallies require a great degree of mental focus and physical stamina.
CASAPIANOS MARTYROLOGY ORDER (CATHOLIC COUNTER-REFORMATION)
The Casa Pia is a Portuguese institution founded by Maria I, known as A Pia ("Mary the Pious"), and organized by Police Intendant Pina Manique in 1780, following the social disarray of the 1755 Lisbon earthquake. For almost three centuries, thousands of young boys and girls were raised by Casa Pia, including many public personalities, called casapianos. Casa Pia is Portugal's largest educational institution dedicated to helping youngsters in risk of social exclusion or without parental support. The organisation is composed of ten schools and enrolls approximately 4700 students. In addition to standard schooling, the organisation also provides boarding for children in need. It strives to enable these youngsters to become healthy and successful members of society, by developing intellectual, manual, and physical traits, in an environment promoting spiritual, moral, and religious values. The institution is proud to have had amongst its students many outstanding Portuguese personalities, including politicians, journalists, and artists. A martyrology is a catalogue or list of martyrs and other saints and beati arranged in the calendar order of their anniversaries or feasts. Local martyrologies record exclusively the custom of a particular Church. Local lists were enriched by names borrowed from neighbouring churches.[1] Consolidation occurred, by the combination of several local martyrologies, with or without borrowings from literary sources.
The Canons Regular of St. Augustine are priests who live in community under a rule (Latin: regula and κανών, kanon, in Greek) and are generally organised into religious orders, differing from both secular canons and other forms of religious life, such as clerics regular, designated by a partly similar terminology. As religious communities, they have laybrothers as part of the community.
Clerics regular are clerics (mostly priests) who are members of a religious order under a rule of life (regular). Clerics regular differ from canons regular in that they devote themselves more to pastoral care, in place of an obligation to the praying of the Liturgy of the Hours in common, and have fewer observances in their rule of life.
Lay brother is a largely extinct term referring to religious brothers, particularly in the Catholic Church, who focused upon manual service and secular matters, and were distinguished from choir monks or friars in that they did not pray in choir, and from clerics, in that they were not in possession of (or preparing for) holy orders.[1][2][3][4][5]
In female religious institutes, the equivalent role is the lay sister. Lay brothers were originally created to allow those who were skilled in particular crafts or did not have the required education to study for holy orders to participate in and contribute to the life of a religious order.
Lay brothers were found in many religious orders. Drawn from the working classes, they were pious and hardworking people, who though unable to achieve the education needed to receive holy orders, were still drawn to religious life and were able to contribute to the order through their skills. Some were skilled in artistic handicrafts, others functioned as administrators of the orders' material assets. In particular, the lay brothers of the Cistercians were skilled in agriculture, and have been credited for the tilling of fertile farmland.[1]
Lay sisters were found in most of the orders of women, and their origin, like that of the lay brothers, is to be found in the necessity of providing the choir nuns with more time for the Office and study, as well as creating the opportunity for the illiterate to join the religious life. They, too, wore a habit different from those of the choir sisters, and their required daily prayers consisted of prayers such as the Little Office or a certain number of Paters.[1]
All canons regular are to be distinguished from secular canons who belong to a resident group of priests but who do not take public vows and are not governed in whatever elements of life they lead in common by a historical rule. One obvious place where such groups of priests are required is at a cathedral, where there were many Masses to celebrate and the Divine Office to be prayed together in community.
In modern astrology, Mars is the primary native ruler of the first house. Traditionally however, Mars ruled both the third and tenth houses, and had its joy in the fifth house. While Venus tends to the overall relationship atmosphere, Mars is the passionate impulse and action, the masculine aspect, discipline, willpower and stamina.
Mars rules over Tuesday and in Romance languages the word for Tuesday often resembles Mars (in Romanian, marți, in Spanish, martes, in French, mardi and in Italian "martedì"). The English "Tuesday" is a modernised form of "Tyr's Day", Tyr being the Germanic analogue to Mars. Dante Alighieri associated Mars with the liberal art of arithmetic. In Chinese astrology, Mars is ruled by the element fire, which is passionate, energetic and adventurous.
According to John Clements, the term martial arts itself is derived from an older Latin term meaning "arts of Mars", the Roman god of war, and was used to refer to the combat systems of Europe (European martial arts) as early as the 1550s
A religious congregation is a type of religious institute in the Catholic Church. They are legally distinguished from religious orders – the other major type of religious institute – in that members take simple vows, whereas members of religious orders take solemn vows.
In the Catholic Church, a religious order is a community of consecrated life with members that profess solemn vows. They are classed as a type of religious institute.[1]

Material religion is a framework used by scholars of religion to examine the interaction between religion and material culture. It focuses on the place of objects, images, spaces, and buildings in religious communities. The framework has been promoted by scholars such as Birgit Meyer, Sally Promey, S. Brent Plate, David Morgan, etc.
Physiocracy (French: physiocratie; from the Greek for "government of nature") is an economic theory developed by a group of 18th-century Age of Enlightenment French economists who believed that the wealth of nations derived solely from the value of "land agriculture" or "land development" and that agricultural products should be highly priced.[1] Their theories originated in France and were most popular during the second half of the 18th century. Physiocracy became one of the first well-developed theories of economics.
The Bible typically describes the Heavenly host as being made up of angels, and gives several descriptions of angels in military terms, such as their encampment (Genesis 32:1–2), command structure (Psalms 91:11–12; Matt.13:41; Rev.7:2), and participation in combat (Job 19:12; Rev.12:7). Other passages indicate other entities make up the divine army, namely stars (Judges 5:20, Isaiah 40:26).[1][full citation needed] In Christian theology, the heavenly host participate in the war in Heaven.
The doctrine or theory of immanence holds that the divine encompasses or is manifested in the material world. It is held by some philosophical and metaphysical theories of divine presence. Immanence is usually applied in monotheistic, pantheistic, pandeistic, or panentheistic faiths to suggest that the spiritual world permeates the mundane.
The Dionysian Mysteries were a ritual of ancient Greece and Rome which sometimes used intoxicants and other trance-inducing techniques (like dance and music) to remove inhibitions and social constraints, liberating the individual to return to a natural state.
Religious nationalism can be understood in a number of ways, such as nationalism as a religion itself, a position articulated by Carlton Hayes in his text Nationalism: A Religion, or as the relationship of nationalism to a particular religious belief, dogma, ideology, or affiliation. This relationship can be broken down into two aspects: the politicisation of religion and the influence of religion on politics.
Dioceses ruled by an archbishop are commonly referred to as archdioceses; most are metropolitan sees, being placed at the head of an ecclesiastical province. In the Catholic Church, some are suffragans of a metropolitan see or are directly subject to the Holy See.
The body of light, sometimes called the 'astral body'[a] or the 'subtle body,'[b] is a "quasi material"[1] aspect of the human body, being neither solely physical nor solely spiritual, posited by a number of philosophers, and elaborated on according to various esoteric, occult, and mystical teachings. Other terms used for this body include body of glory,[2] spirit-body, luciform body, augoeides ('radiant body'), astroeides ('starry or sidereal body'), and celestial body.[3] The concept derives from the philosophy of Plato: the word 'astral' means 'of the stars'; thus the astral plane consists of the Seven Heavens of the classical planets. The idea is rooted in common worldwide religious accounts of the afterlife[4] in which the soul's journey or "ascent" is described in such terms as "an ecstatic, mystical or out-of body experience, wherein the spiritual traveller leaves the physical body and travels in their body of light into 'higher' realms."[5]
The canon law of the Catholic Church (from Latin ius canonicum[1]) is "how the Church organizes and governs herself".[2] It is the system of laws and ecclesiastical legal principles made and enforced by the hierarchical authorities of the Catholic Church to regulate its external organization and government and to order and direct the activities of Catholics toward the mission of the Church.
An institute of consecrated life is an association of faithful in the Catholic Church canonically erected by competent church authorities to enable men or women who publicly profess the evangelical counsels by religious vows or other sacred bonds "through the charity to which these counsels lead to be joined to the Church and its mystery in a special way".[1] They are defined in the 1983 Code of Canon Law under canons 573–730. The Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life has ecclesial oversight of institutes of consecrated life.[2]
In Christianity, the three evangelical counsels, or counsels of perfection, are chastity (NEVER), poverty (or perfect charity), and obedience (RECKLESS ABANDONMENT).[1] As stated by Jesus in the canonical gospels,[2] they are counsels for those who desire to become "perfect" (τελειος, teleios).[3][4] The Catholic Church interprets this to mean that they are not binding upon all, and hence not necessary conditions to attain eternal life (heaven), but that they are "acts of supererogation", "over and above" the minimum stipulated in the biblical commandments.[5][6]
Catholics who have made a public profession to order their lives by the evangelical counsels, and confirmed this by public vows before their competent church authority (the act of religious commitment known as a profession), are recognised as members of the consecrated life.
The Council of Trent (Latin: Concilium Tridentinum), held between 1545 and 1563 in Trent (or Trento), now in northern Italy, was the 19th ecumenical council of the Catholic Church. Prompted by the Protestant Reformation at the time, it has been described as the embodiment of the Counter-Reformation. The Council issued key statements and clarifications of the Church's doctrine and teachings, including scripture, the biblical canon, sacred tradition, original sin, justification, salvation, the sacraments, the Mass, and the veneration of saints[4] and also issued condemnations of what it defined to be heresies committed by proponents of Protestantism. The consequences of the Council were also significant with regard to the Church's liturgy and censorship.
Initiated in part to address the challenges of the Protestant Reformations,[3] the Counter-Reformation was a comprehensive effort arising from the decrees of the Council of Trent. The effort produced apologetic and polemical documents, heresy trials, anti-corruption efforts, spiritual movements, the promotion of new religious orders, and the flourishing of new art and musical styles.
Tradwave is a Catholic artistic style using synthwave and vaporwave art to promote traditional catholicism. Tradwave usually uses traditional catholic paintings, sculptures, or photographs of saints, given with vaporwave effects, often with a bible verse or quote about catholicism. The art usually tries to convey a resurrection of catholic spirituality in the modern atheist world. Figures often depicted in Tradwave art include Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, Ven. Fulton Sheen, Cardinal Robert Sarah, and Mother Angelica.
Tradwave music often takes the form of two main styles. One of them is catholic hymns with vaporwave effects and traditional Vaporwave/Lo-Fi music. It can also have quotes from modern prolific Catholic figures, such as Ven. The other theme is Fulton Sheen and Cardinal Robert Sarah.
Heavenly Virtues: Another phrase to describe this obedience to the voice is “reckless abandon.” It simply means that we let God do what God wants to do through us. It means if He tells us to do something or say something—we do it.
Intercession or intercessory prayer is the act of praying to a deity on behalf of others, or asking a saint in heaven to pray on behalf of oneself or for others. Intercession of the Saints is a Christian doctrine that maintains that saints can intercede for others. To intercede is to go or come between two parties, to plead before one of them on behalf of the other. In ecclesiastical usage both words are taken in the sense of the intervention primarily of Christ, and secondarily of the Blessed Virgin and the angels and saints, on behalf of men.[2] The doctrine is held by the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox Churches, the Assyrian Church of the East, the Oriental Orthodox churches , and some Lutherans and Anglicans (chiefly those of Evangelical Catholic or Anglo-Catholic churchmanship, respectively).[3] The practice of asking saints for their intercession can be found in Christian writings from the 3rd century onwards.[4][5][6] Catholic doctrine supports intercessory prayer to saints. This practice is an application of the doctrine of the Communion of saints. Some of the early basis for this was the belief that martyrs passed immediately into the presence of God and could obtain graces and blessings for others, which naturally and immediately led to their direct invocation. A further reinforcement was derived from the cult of the angels which, while pre-Christian in its origin, was heartily embraced by the faithful of the sub-Apostolic age. The doctrine of intercession and invocation was set forth by the Council of Trent, which teaches that "... the saints who reign together with Christ offer up their own prayers to God for men. It is good and useful suppliantly to invoke them, and to have recourse to their prayers, aid, and help for obtaining benefits from God, through His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, Who alone is our Redeemer and Saviour".[10] Intercessory prayer to saintly persons who have not yet been beatified can also practiced by individuals, and evidence of miracles produced as a result of such prayer is very commonly produced during the formal process of beatification and canonization.
In short, the gun-toting angel was a multifaceted metaphor. “It undoubtedly also reflected the Catholic Counter-Reformation militaristic rhetoric,” wrote Donahue-Wallace, “which promoted the church as an army and heavenly beings as its soldiers.” These "Harquebusier Angels" or "Arcabuceros" are full-length depictions of winged angels, elaborately dressed, and carrying matchlock guns (harquebuses).
The related term astrolatry usually implies polytheism. In anthropological literature these systems of practice may be referred to as astral cults.
A friar is a member of one of the mendicant orders in the Roman Catholic Church. There are also friars outside of the Roman Catholic Church, such as within the Anglican Communion. The term, first used in the 12th or 13th century, distinguishes the mendicants' itinerant apostolic character, exercised broadly under the jurisdiction of a superior general, from the older monastic orders' allegiance to a single monastery formalized by their vow of stability. A friar may be in holy orders or be a non-ordained brother. The most significant orders of friars are the Dominicans, Franciscans, Augustinians, and Carmelites.[1]
Romans 8:31; Exploring Biblical Imagery is one of the most important keys to interpreting and gaining a deeper understanding of the Bible. The Bible often communicates truth to us through images and patterns.
Throughout history, armed priests or soldier priests have been recorded. Distinguished from military chaplains, who are non-combatants that provided spiritual guidance to service personnel and associated civilians, these priests took up arms and fought in conflicts as combatants. The term warrior priests or war priests is usually used for armed priests in Antiquity and the Middle Ages, and of historical tribes.
Slang: In Romans 8:5-8, Paul presents a compelling contrast between living according to the flesh and living according to the Spirit. The flesh, with its disordered desires and rebellion against God, leads only to spiritual desolation. Martyr, one who voluntarily suffers death rather than deny their religion by words or deeds; such action is afforded special, institutionalized recognition in most major religions of the world. The term may also refer to anyone who sacrifices their life or something of great value for the sake of principle. A religious allusion is a brief reference to a person, event, place, or phrase from religious texts or traditions, without describing them in detail. 5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. Martyr/Romans 8 Allusion Slang.
Romeu e Julieta (Casapianos Order 1996 Adaptation 18+ Romance Thriller)
While it retains the original Shakespearean dialogue, the film represents the Montagues and the Capulets as warring mafia empires (with legitimate business fronts) and the Capulets were "a Latin family, sort of,"[15] played by Latin-American and Italian actors.[16] It is set in contemporary United States, where swords are replaced by guns[17] (with model names such as "Dagger", "Sword", and "Rapier"), and with a FedEx-style overnight delivery service called "Post Haste".[18] Shakespeare and Impure Aesthetics explores ideas about art implicit in Shakespeare's plays and defines specific Shakespearean aesthetic practices in his use of desire, death and mourning as resources for art. In fiction, a subplot or side story is a secondary strand of the plot that is a supporting side story for any story or for the main plot. Subplots may connect to main plots, in either time and place or thematic significance. Subplots often involve supporting characters, those besides the protagonist or antagonist. Subplots may also intertwine with the main plot at some point in a story.[1]
THE ENCYCLICAL PASSIONARIES ABOUT YHVH CASAPIANOS
Specifically, the royal psalms deal with the spiritual role of kings in the worship of Yahweh. Aside from that single qualification, there is nothing else which specifically links the ten psalms. Each of the psalms make explicit references to their subject, the king. Royal (messianic) psalms deal with the king as God's anointed or chosen one. Many are prayers for the wisdom of the king, his long life or success in battle. Some are prophetic in nature in that they also point to the ideal future king, the Messiah or the King of kings. Simple martyrologies only enumerate names. Historical martyrologies, also sometimes called passionaries, also include stories or biographical details. (Reckless Abandonment; Mars Shamanism and Casa Pia Wing Transfer Invocation)
In the martyrdom narrative of the remembering community, this refusal to comply with the presented demands results in the punishment or execution of an individual by an oppressor. Accordingly, the status of the 'martyr' can be considered a posthumous title as a reward for those who are considered worthy of the concept of martyrdom by the living, regardless of any attempts by the deceased to control how they will be remembered in advance.[1] Insofar, the martyr is a relational figure of a society's boundary work that is produced by collective memory.[2] Originally applied only to those who suffered for their religious beliefs, the term has come to be used in connection with people killed for a political cause. (Armed Friars and The War for Central Africa between Casapianos and The French; The Fall of Yoruba for Bembé; Arcubusier Angels in Africa)
The Metal Ages is a term for the period of human civilization beginning about 6,000 years ago during which metallurgy rapidly advanced, and human populations started using metals such as copper, tin, bronze and finally iron to make tools and weapons. By heating and shaping metals in hot furnaces, humanity also learned to use precious metals such as gold and silver to make intricate ornaments.[1][2] With these technological adaptions, human society became more productive and human settlements became larger and more prosperous, but also more violent.[3] The Metal Ages are divided into three stages: the Copper Age, the Bronze Age, and the Iron Age.[1][2] (Calcium Age of Angola)

At first glance, the X account @StopZionistHate seems like a pro-Palestinian leftist organization. It describes itself as a “Leading non-partisan American based organization fighting zionism and zionist hate.” Its logo is corporate-looking, and it has the $1,000-a-month “gold check” that represents supposedly reputable businesses and nonprofit groups. Some tweets seem anodyne — the account provides fact-checking, for example, via “our very own news wire.”
But the vast majority of its content is anything but vanilla. Stop Zionist Hate is based on and in reaction to an account called Stop Antisemitism; both achieve their high engagement and awareness rates by sharing upsetting and horrifying examples of hate — in Stop Zionist Hate’s case, from “Zionists” (usually far-right supporters of Israel) directed at pro-Palestinian activists, Muslims and others. Similar to Stop Antisemitism, it also doxxes and engages in mass harassment campaigns to get these people fired. All of this helps feed the outrage of its audience while positioning Stop Zionist Hate as a leader in the battle for Palestinian rights.
Scratch the surface, though, and something far darker is exposed: a white nationalist marketing machine. Accounts like Stop Zionist Hate are part of an even larger white nationalist, neo-Nazi and far-right project: exploiting the war in Gaza as disinformation explodes and a friendly billionaire/social media site owner gives them free rein.
To understand how Stop Zionist Hate fits into this, we need to examine how that project came to be. After Hamas’ attack on Oct. 7, white nationalists pivoted to pro-Palestinian content. Accounts like those of Jackson Hinkle (with a long track record of transphobia) and Censored Men (misogyny) have followed this tactic to incredible success, garnering hundreds of thousands or even millions of new followers. Together, these accounts are able to achieve billions of impressions of their content.
While these accounts are now focused on Israel, this growth in their audiences means that they will now be able to spread their more toxic views as time passes. Already, Hinkle has begun spreading the idea that “Zionists” are releasing “sexualized video games for children,” a classic antisemitic trope about Jews’ exploiting children.
It is this logic that led directly to the creation of Stop Zionist Hate. Unlike the white nationalists above, it did not have a track record to sully its image. And since Twitter no longer vets any of its blue and gold checks, it was able to instantly appear credible with its gold check.
But for those paying attention, it immediately raised alarm bells. For one thing, Stop Zionist Hate drew early support from an unlikely source for an ostensibly progressive account: 4chan and its antisemitic, racist, Islamophobic, misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic board /pol/ (short for “politically incorrect”). Furthermore, accounts like these do not grow so quickly without some help. On Nov. 7, it had only a few hundred followers. On Nov. 9, only 10 minutes after Stop Zionist Hate spit out a tweet, Censored Men shared it and told its 800,000 followers, “Everyone follow @StopZionistHate to keep updated on Zionist hate crimes.” A day later, the account had 16,000 followers.
When it was created, Stop Zionist Hate first followed many of the white nationalist accounts pretending to be pro-Palestinian. (Those behind the account have since attempted to sanitize their list of followed accounts.) It then complained about the supposed lack of attention to hate crimes against white people, a common refrain of neo-Nazis and white nationalists. Then it joined a Twitter Spaces (live chat) with neo-Nazis, and the person representing the account said they were fighting the “Zionist control over our institutions.”
A few days ago, the mask went from slipping to completely off: Stop Zionist Hate began spreading overt antisemitic content, including invoking the antisemitic trope that Jews killed Jesus.
Despite this, less than two months after its launch, Stop Zionist Hate has 121,000 followers. As it gains more followers, it will doubtless continue to double down on spreading overt antisemitism.
It does not stop there: Whoever is running Stop Zionist Hate is creating a network of accounts that spread different messages in a closely connected ecosystem, allowing it to maintain plausible deniability in its intentions while shepherding its audience from its anti-Zionist content to overt antisemitism.
Among a few such accounts, an account called Defund Israel Now is the most overtly antisemitic. It has a similarly corporate look, as well as the $1,000-a-month gold check, but a typical tweet claims Jews “destroyed Christianity through LGBT propaganda & pornography,… stole tax dollars to bomb muslim countries...[and] censored white voices.”
What we are seeing, then, is a full-blown campaign by white nationalists to use the war in Gaza as cover for more and more explicit antisemitism. This has been made infinitely easier by Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter, which destroyed any semblance of content moderation or user verification on the site.
And that is only the tip of the iceberg. Stop Zionist Hate’s fans on 4chan already see the implications of what this means. In one popular post about the account, a user says, “Someone should start ‘Stop BLM Hate.’” In response, another says: “This is another good idea. We should take it a step further and do them all, Indians, latinx, Muslims, etc. Fight fire with fire.”
Since white nationalists are not focused only on Jews, accounts like Stop Zionist Hate are not in any sense about helping Palestinians. The goal is, in marketing parlance, to segment their audiences. By focusing only on Israel and spreading only antisemitism, they can achieve one objective. But the technique, if unchecked, will be used against others.
This is the new age that Musk has ushered in with his purchase of Twitter. There is now a social media website and app with over 200 million active users that allows overt bigotry to spread like wildfire and lets disinformation accounts pose as legitimate organizations. Which means that those selling hate have found their best marketing channel. And they are only getting started.

ok locked tomb fam, we’re getting closer to october and the original release date for Alecto, and i’ve been seeing an uptick in anxious/aggravated fans in the tags wondering when we’ll get any new info. waiting is very hard, i feel it too, so i wanted to share some things i have gleaned about publishing through a masters degree and a decade of bookselling!
the book is not coming out in october. the marketing would have started months ago if it was—and there’s no way that the final book in a series as on the radar as TLT would have less marketing than the previous books did. the galley isn’t out there yet either, as far as i’ve seen. i think a fall or winter release is extremely unlikely at this point.
book publishing, for the most part, is not willy nilly. marketing has to thread the needle between starting too early (risking losing the attention of the casually interested) and starting too late to build a good buzz. release dates have to take into account what other books are coming out at the same time—not just what Tor is putting out, but likely what their parent company, macmillan, is putting out. i know this is capitalism at work, but this is the system we live in: they don’t want similar or similarly big books in the same company or imprint competing with each other, it can hurt sales all around.
Tamsyn said in an interview back in december ‘22 that Alecto was written, but editing had not begun yet. editing takes a lot of time, and marketing steps are frequently linked up—announcing a release date hinges on how close the book is to being ready, especially since the original release date is no longer applicable, and getting books ready for print takes a lot of time and a lot of steps!
the biggest times of year for book releases, especially highly anticipated books, are Oct/Nov before holiday shopping starts, and Mar/Apr/May. obviously that’s not true for every book, but this is a big book for Tor, and big books get better spots in the release calendar. if i had to make an educated guess, i would wager Alecto will probably come out in spring ‘24, and we won’t start to see announcements or marketing until after the official release of the Nona paperback on Sept 12. again, this is sales driven: news about Alecto could muddy the waters for the Nona paperback and impede sales, especially since there’s new content in there. i think it’s likely we’ll hear something a little later in the fall.
i’m not as plugged into publishing as i used to be, so i am fully prepared to be wrong about any of this—it’s just assumptions based on what i’ve experienced of the book industry.
either way though, a point i want to make is that nobody at Tor is witholding information from us maliciously. there are a million moving parts in making and marketing a book (and i’m sorry, but huge Hollywood movie releases that are topically resonant but not actually related do not have any effect on publishing schedules). most of those moving parts are human beings: Tamsyn, trying to tie up the series under enormous pressure, still during a pandemic; her editor, who has other books to edit at the same time, and surely wants to do this work justice; Moira Quirk, hopefully, bringing her genius to recording the audiobook; copy editors, designers, marketing people, all of whom are people, many of whom are overworked and underpaid in an industry that is largely not unionized.
they’re not trying to fuck with us. i understand where these impulses come from, but getting angry, begging, pestering, none of that is going to change the plain fact that you can’t market a book until you have an almost-ready book, and Alecto is one that Tor will want to put the best tactics and timing behind. be patient a little longer. fuck corporations and capitalism, but have empathy for the individuals who will put Alecto in our hands from within a very flawed system. Tor has a long and successful history in speculative fiction publishing, they know what they’re doing.

Are you fucking kidding me?! - JoJoFromJerz
Donnie Two Weeks Go Boom Boom
Trump got roasted online, so he launched a war. Totally stable behavior from a totally stable genius. Believe me.
JoJoFromJerz Jun 23
Dear Ma & Pa MAGA,
Your mango-hued messiah’s “will he/won’t he?” melodrama has culminated—predictably—with an illegal bombing campaign against Iran. It triggered sleeper cells from Beirut to Brooklyn, sent oil prices soaring, put American troops in the crosshairs, and rattled global markets like a live wire in a kiddie pool. We are barreling toward yet another endless war in the Middle East—this time against the world’s most sophisticated state sponsor of terror—while Donald Trump bellows “regime change” from atop his porcelain throne like a constipated Caesar with a Twitter account and zero comprehension of consequence.
So much for “no new wars”—he went from fake-dovish isolationist to “let’s topple Iran” in less time than it took him to mispronounce “Yosemite.”
The intelligence didn’t confirm Iran was building a nuclear weapon. It raised concerns. It warranted diplomacy. But it wasn’t conclusive. And yet, here we are—because Donald Trump, a five-time draft-dodging carnival barker with the emotional regulation of a soda machine that’s been kicked too many times, couldn’t handle being called “Taco” on the internet.
A man whose psyche is held together by spite, fast food grease, and whatever meth-scented fumes are left in his Adderall dispenser. A man who unravels at the speed of a group text. Who governs like someone trying to win back the affection of a stuffed animal he screamed at in 1987. Whose understanding of foreign policy is one part Ponzi scheme, one part steroidal game show, and three parts toddler meltdown trapped inside a creamsicle-colored sack of saggy FUPA skin and unresolved daddy issues.
So now we’re here—on the brink of war—because a 78-year-old human root canal with impulse control issues got his ego dinged online and thought imperiling millions of lives was a fair trade for not being the butt of a trending hashtag.
“Donnie Two Weeks.” “Taco.” Jokes. Nicknames. Memes. That’s all it took. He was clowned for his cowardice, for making threats he never delivers, for flinging “ultimate” ultimatums like glitter and forgetting them mid-sentence. And because the worst thing you can do to a man like Trump is not take him seriously, he launched a billion-dollar temper tantrum into the desert—just to prove he’s still the guy with his finger on the button.
Not because it needed pressing. But because he wanted to remind the world he could.
And now millions of lives hang in the balance—because one man couldn’t bear being the punchline.
And the guy who’s late to everything—weddings, funerals, Air Force briefings, history itself—bungled this too. He ordered the strike days after any tactical advantage had already packed up, cashed its per diem, and left the hemisphere. While he was out digging up Jackie O’s lawn like a golden retriever with a head injury—tearing up history to slap down a glorified ego patio—Iran was busy hiding its crown jewels and loading the chessboard.
They didn’t just prepare. They vanished. They scattered, concealed, disappeared like smoke. And now? We likely know less about what they’re doing than we did before he opened his big, stupid mouth.
He didn’t project strength. He demolished intelligence.
No plan. No partners. No strategy. No shame. Just one man’s ego trying to outpace the consequences he never imagined would arrive.
We don’t have a commander-in-chief. We have a bloated need for validation in a flag pin. A man so psychologically fragile, so pathologically self-obsessed, he makes national security decisions based on whether someone called him “Taco” that morning. He doesn’t read briefings—he rage-scrolls headlines. He doesn’t weigh consequences—he reacts to vibes.
And the most dangerous part?
He doesn’t care. Not even a little.
He doesn’t care if your son dies in uniform. He doesn’t care if your daughter loses her job, her home, her future. He doesn’t care if you can’t afford groceries, or if your child’s leukemia trial gets cut, or if your father dies waiting for a surgery delayed by an insurance company he deregulated. He doesn’t care who starves, who breaks, who bleeds—as long as he gets to feel large and loud and worshipped.
He has never been cold, or hungry, or afraid. He’s never wept over a hospital bill, or sat in a pharmacy parking lot rehearsing how to beg for insulin. He doesn’t know hardship, and worse—he has no curiosity about it. It’s beneath him. You are beneath him.
Meanwhile, back home, the signs of collapse aren’t metaphor—they’re marching in boots. Marines patrol city streets. Masked “federal agents” snatch fathers off sidewalks in broad daylight like we’re extras in a fascist theme park. Protesters are stalked, journalists harassed, and political enemies threatened like it’s V for Vendetta: Mar-a-Lago Edition, directed by Steve Bannon on a month-long bacon binge.
And what has he actually done for you?
Trump’s tariffs are gutting the economy. Prices are up. Wages are stuck. Markets are spooked. Small businesses are evaporating. Growth is comatose. Confidence is dead. And the pain? It’s real—and manufactured.
Because this isn’t a failure. This is the plan. This is cruelty as governance. Disaster as campaign strategy.
We’ve aligned with dictators and ghosted democracies. We’ve welcomed traffickers and silenced scientists. We’ve gutted suicide hotlines for LGBTQ youth and veterans. We’ve stopped feeding schoolkids, slashed cancer research, defunded environmental protections, and fired the people who inspect your food and manage your airspace. And for what?
So Jeff Bezos can build a second space penis while you pay $12 for a carton of eggs and pretend it’s the price of “freedom.”
Your Social Security? Medicaid? SNAP? All headed for the shredder—because the billionaires need another yacht. This isn’t “America First.” This is America Fucked—by a sociopath in a comically long red tie who thinks World War III is a campaign strategy.
And now he tosses around “regime change” like it’s the name of his next failed vodka brand. Because he doesn’t read. Doesn’t remember. Doesn’t care. He wants a war, because fear works when you have nothing else to offer.
And those spineless cosplay statesmen you call the GOP?
Please.
They didn’t lose their backbones—they sold them. On clearance. With expedited shipping and a free MAGA mug. They traded integrity for power, the Constitution for clout, and national security for whatever screen time they could score between a CPAC snake-handling seminar and a Tucker Carlson colon cleanse.
They weren’t outmaneuvered. They bent over. Gleefully. Willingly. They watched a rage-addled narcissist light the country on fire and clapped like drunk seals at a demolition derby.
Because they don’t care who suffers—not you, not your kids, not the troops, not democracy itself—as long as they keep the seat, the Super PAC, and the invitation to Mar-a-Lago’s fascist fondue night.
They’re not leaders. They’re bootlicking background actors in a fascist fever dream. Dead-eyed extras in a propaganda reel nobody wants to rewatch. And history will remember them not as patriots—but as enablers who brought gasoline to the blaze and begged for a selfie while it burned.
But they didn’t light the match alone.
No, Ma and Pa MAGA—you helped. You held the lighter. You watched this sweaty, spackle-colored tire fire stumble through every institution we built, and you cheered. You nodded while he lied, scapegoated, sabotaged. You hooted while he caged children, mocked the sick, gutted veterans’ care, and turned the CDC into a Dollar Tree puppet show. You draped yourself in a knockoff flag made in China and called it patriotism while he pissed on the Constitution and called it branding.
You didn’t get duped. You wanted to be duped. Because cruelty made you feel powerful. It validated you. It gave you excuses for your own inadequacies. Because someone finally said your quiet parts loud. Because you mistook tantrums for truth and sociopathy for strength.
And Trump? He’s not a genius. He’s not a leader. He’s not some 5D chess-playing alpha sent to drain the swamp. He’s a sentient cholesterol clot. A grown-ass tax write-off with a Wi-Fi signal. A stubby-fingered Game Show Goblin whose only consistent skill is collecting broken, bitter little husks of people—dumber, meaner, emptier than him—who stick around not out of loyalty, but because they’ve got nowhere else to go. Damaged goods orbiting a moral black hole, too compromised to leave and too hollow to lead.
He doesn’t read. He doesn’t listen. He doesn’t know a single fucking thing. He governs like a malfunctioning GPS in a Rascal scooter—recalculating every five seconds based on whatever rage-bait got lodged in his skull via Fox News, a fascist Facebook meme, or Stephen Miller whispering in his ear like a Victorian ghost that feeds on immigrant tears and leftover Lunchables.
He thinks “regime change” is a slogan. He thinks nukes are fireworks with better lighting. He thinks foreign policy is Mean Girls with missiles—and he’s the bitchy one-liner who thinks genocide polls well in the Rust Belt.
He’s not a leader. He’s a bloated fever blister stuffed into a Made-in-China flag onesie, with a Diet Coke addiction and the geopolitical instincts of a concussed possum. The man thought windmills cause cancer—and you still let him hold the codes.
So you want to call yourselves patriots?
Spare me.
You’re not patriots. You’re props.
You’re scenery.
You’re extras in the third act of a democracy snuff film.
But hey—at least you won the “war on pronouns”, right?
You swore you were against endless wars, until your yam-dyed daddy launched one that is—and then you snapped to attention like spine-deficient bobbleheads auditioning for state TV.
And now, here we are. Bracing for deadly retaliation. Poised for a brand NEW war.
At least that imaginary trans kid you invented in your Fox-fed fever dream won’t be batting cleanup on your daughter’s softball team.
At least there’s that.
So much winning.
You really must be sick of it.

Summary of this Harvard Business Review article from Bill McKibben:
The ever-vigilant Kenneth Pucker, writing in the Harvard Business Review, finds that companies are scaling back diversity and sustainability pledges under pressure from conservative activists. (Ford and Lowe’s have joined the list in recent days). He calls it shortsighted, pointing out
Over time, the balance of negative- and positive-return sustainability investments will shift. As the impacts of climate change become more pronounced, pricing of carbon will become even more common. Already, starting in 2026, the newly enacted European Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), a tariff, will put a price on the embodied carbon for several key heavy industry inputs including steel, aluminum, iron, and cement entering the EU. As a result, many investments that may not pay out today will be accretive in the future. To prepare for truer pricing of carbon, companies ought to set an internal carbon price with proceeds used to fund investments to lower emissions. Carbon prices are already in place in more than 20% of U.S. and EU companies. Danone, for example, started with an internal carbon price of €35 and Klarna recently doubled its price for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions to $200 per metric. Also, given that 90% of public equity valueis comprised of intangible assets (such as a company’s brand and intellectual property), several companies adjust cash flows or the corporate hurdle rate to advantage sustainability investments. Though imprecise, so doing attempts to account for the increasingly important value of intangible assets. Like working with suppliers, making these adjustments demands an orientation that balances short- and medium-term results. This is because these financial tactics spur companies to accelerate the costs (e.g., of regulation) and risks (e.g., to brand reputation) of environmental degradation by replacing the mispriced incentives of the market with clearer signals to advance sustainability. Courageous executives will realize, however, that so doing is in fact in keeping with how investors value companies — based on future cash flows, not each 90-day earnings cycle.
